Orders & Delivery

    Q. Do you have a minimum order?
    A.
    There is no minimum order for any of our product or material supplies or hire equipment.

    Q. On what days do you deliver?
    A.
    Monday to Saturday. There is an additional charge for Saturday deliveries and there may be a delay as this is our most requested delivery day.

    Q. Can I specify a time for delivery?
    A.
    For an additional charge, you can specify morning or afternoon delivery. Morning runs from 8am to 1pm, and afternoon from 1pm to 6pm.

    Q. Do I have to be home when the delivery is made?
    A.
    If you let us know in advance, we can make a delivery to a neighbour or leave products in a safe place on your premises. This is of course at your own risk.

    Q. How long will I wait for delivery after placing an order?
    A.
    This depends on the products ordered, the quantity and the delivery location. We will quote an estimated delivery time when you place your order.

    Q. Do you deliver to where I live?
    A.
    We deliver to all addresses throughout Essex and east London.

    Q. Is there a delivery charge?
    A.
    Some orders qualify for free delivery and others incur a charge. We will quote any charges at the time of order. Delivery charges are calculated by quantity, weight and delivery location.

    Q. Do your quoted prices include VAT?
    A.
    Our quoted prices always include VAT and delivery charges are stated, so you can be clear on the overall cost of your order.

    Q. Will you provide an invoice or receipt for my order?
    A.
    Orders placed by e-mail will receive a confirmation e-mail reply. A delivery note and receipt will be provided with all orders.

Fencing

    Q: Is it my fence?
    A.
    If you are unsure whether a fence is your responsibility or that of a neighbour, you will need to check your property Deeds. Try contacting the solicitor who dealt with your purchase for further advice.

    Q. What if I want to replace a fence that’s not mine?
    A. 
    Depending on your relationship with your neighbour, you could propose that you’d like to renew the fence but as it’s theirs, ask them if they would they be willing to pay 50% of the cost. You could of course suggest you pay 100%, depending on your finances. Alternatively, you could erect a new fence on your own land next to the existing one belonging to your neighbour.

Garden Landscaping

    Q. Will I be able to look after the garden you’ve landscaped for me?

    offer a free consultation. We visit you and survey your garden and spend time getting to know about your lifestyle and how you plan to use your garden. We make sure that gardens are designed with the amount of free time of the gardener in mind, as well as the use they will get and the geographical conditions that have an effect on the longevity of garden features like decking, fencing and paving. We will not give you a garden that you can’t look after yourself.

    Q. How do I know what plants will work best in my garden?
    A.
    Using our expert knowledge, we will advise you on the types of plants, shrubs and trees that will work best with the conditions in your area and the use of your garden. We can combine plants that work well together and set up seasonal planting schemes so that your garden is in colourful bloom all year round.

Turf, Grass & Topsoil

    Q. How will you deliver my turf?
    A.
    We use a tail-lift van to offload your turf at your required location, whether it’s at the front of your property or via side access. If you let us know your requirements in advance, we can try our best to deliver your turf as near as possible to where you’d like it.

    Q. Do I need to spread topsoil before laying my turf?
    A.
    Only if your own soil is of an inferior quality or you need to bring levels up. We will fully advise you on whether topsoil is required, and if so, how much you will need.

    Q. How long after laying my new lawn can I walk on it?
    A.
    You need to allow time for the new roots to appear on the underside of the turf and anchor themselves to the soil underneath. This can take between two and four weeks.

    Q. What is the best time of the year to lay turf?
    A.
    Turf can be laid at any time of year, although there are some factors to take into consideration. When laying turf, ensure it stays damp until it has rooted into the soil underneath. In the winter, the risk of dehydration is not so great as in the summer, but roots grow at a slower rate, so you may have to wait a little longer before using your new lawn.

    Q. How long can I leave the turf rolled up after it’s delivered?
    A.
    Our turf is delivered fresh and moist, but we always advise that you start laying it as soon as possible after delivery. Try and prepare your ground in advance of the turf delivery to avoid delay. The sooner you lay the turf, the better the resulting lawn will be. If a delay cannot be prevented, you should unroll the turf immediately and keep it damp.

    Q. Will I need to fertilise my turf?
    A.
    A lawn is like any plant and needs to be fed regularly so that it becomes the lush green paradise you desire. We can advise you on the best fertilisers to use, and supply you with a range of products depending on the conditions in your garden. We also supply products to rid your lawn of weeds and moss.
